Did your gas pedal grab the top corner of your floor mat possibly?

If that happened, it sounds like you might need a new TPS shortly...

Throttle Position Sensor.

Norton, I had it happen a couple time in my GT. I would accellerate, change gears and never hear the RPM's drop and then my car would keep accellerating!! Figured out the pedal was hanging up on the stupid floor mats.

There was a recall on 03/04 Cobra's about the floor mats grabbing the pedal!!!

lol

Do have a link, because i have no idea what the throttle position sensor is. Does it move the gas pedal father out? Because my gas pedal sits pretty low...

I have only had the floor mat stick to the gas pedal a couple times but it sometimes slides down under it and i get better gas mileage..lol

I'm not sure what it is, but check this out for your pedal https://mustangforums.com/m_1297650/tm.htm. I'm going to do that today I think, if I make it to the hardware store.

I don't have any links.

It's located on your throttle body.

check the tps, and then check your pedal and the cables attached for any kinks in it, my friend has a mach 1 and his stuck because the cable from his pedal was all messed up, or the floor mat, yes that has also happend to me as well
