Default READ UP ON TRACTION CONTROL-NOW HOW TO HOOK?

Wondered why the tuner and 4.10's didn't change my time with a G-tech type timer on the same road. With TC on I just hit the throttle about half and then floor it and spin some and run a 14.5. Today I turned the TC off and hit it and it spun so badly it shifted my automatic tranny into 2nd gear. I've made some power and the gears helped the motor to rev quicker, now I need to harness this for quicker times. I do have new 10.5" rear wheels coming and will put 315's on them which should help. May have to feather the launch but will have full power. What else do you guys who hook on the street do? What suspension work helps, still leaving the car also good at handling the roads with curves? I have a '99 convertible. Now I feel a 13.5 is possible with the rest of the mods-catted X-pipe and catback(10HP), UDP's(5HP) and a larger upper plenum(7HP). There's another .2 hopefully. Thanks! mark
