ran right besides them! Not a new cobra... its the 94 to 98 model cobras. No way could I hang with a 03-04 cobra.
I gotta say there is no way your hanging with a properly driven 5spd Mach 1. Ive got a few more mods than you, and even with the underdrives on the way I wouldn't expect to beat a mach 1 if it had the same tires as me. Even if he had stock tires on I wouldn't expect to beat em unless he really screwed the pooch on launch.

With stock tires a excellent driver should be able to get a mach 1 dammed close to a 13.1. If your running that fast either I am severly underestimating my mods or your car is a major factory freak. With the stock 3.27s in the rear end (according to your mod list anyway) you would have to be making more than 310 hp to be beating em (as the mach 1s come with 3.55s )

Well it has to be a freak then or they dont know how to drive. My fastest run right now (as of last weekend) was 13.81. Remember that is with stock tires also. I can hardly ever hook up. Im gonna get drag radials pretty soon.

13.81s is nowhere near close enough to keep up with a mach 1. At a 13.81 he would have you by several carlenghts. Even an automatic mach should be able to scratch out a 13.75, and thats figuring pretty high.

With even a moderately skilled driver a mach will pull a 13.5/6.

sorry guy. I know you're not happy to hear the news but it has happened several times. You do know there is several factors in getting a 13.1. First of all thats a professional driver for MM&FF that got those numbers, then you have to calculate temp, humidity, traction, and of course a good reaction time. I can break almost a perfect light when most of these guys here I raced are still in the 1.1 to 1.3 sec reaction times. Everything counts. I will try to get a camera man to tape it for me next time and I will post it here if I can find a place on the net to upload it.

Most of the Mach1's at my track dial their cars in anywhere from 13.7 to 14.4. Dont ask me why!

I saw 2 Mach 1's a few weeks ago at the track. One was a consistant 14.0 - his best run was a 13.9 and he had a 5 speed. The other guy was a 5speed as well but he had exhaust, underdrive pullies, and drag radials and he beat me on a 13.6 run of mine with a 13.4

Not to say that they were good drivers, I don't know. I do know that the Auto Mach1's only rev to 5800 (vs 6800 for the 5sp) and they are more powerful than the GT's but I dont see them being much, if any, faster than a GT 5sp. Thats just my experience with two of them - of course results may vary as they say.

lol its humid down here in florida right now does that mean if i get a sucky time its not my falt. i live in the most humid place in the usa. u walk to the mail box and your ***** are already sweating. lol winter is good since im 3 feet above sea level and the temp gets in the 40s at night time. oh yeah the new mm&ff has the mach1 vs the GTO. the mach1 got a 13.47 GTO got a 13.52. mach1 curb weight 5spd =3,465 - auto =3,475 GTO curb weight = 3,774 auto. mach 1 hp & torque- 310hp@ 6000 335 @4200 torque
GTO hp torque- 350hp @ 5200 365@ 4,000 torque. my spec sheet says the GTs weight 3,317 thats a lil over 100lbs less than the mach1 a lil bit of weight advantage for the GT.

Im not making excuses, all im saying is that there are a lot of factors in an engines performance and driving has a lot to do with it also. I believe the Mach1 will run exceptionally well, given the right driver and conditions, but we dont get paid the big bucks to just go out and drive for a magizine, although I wish I could!

my post wasnt directed at u i was just making a joke that its humid here. and also a pro driver got a best of 13.4 out of the mach1 . i know 13.1 is possable but many conditions have to be in place to run that. and i dont delve a STOCK mach1 will run a 13.1 all day long. 13.4 is pritty good and it sounds right for the weight and hp. many of us GT guys do have around 300 or more fly wheel hp .so driving side by side with a STOCK mach1 dosent seem to far fetched to me.

its cool, I just know what I have done and 2000GT4.6 was disagreeing. I dont know if he was left behind by one and doesnt believe that a different GT will hang with one or what. I have about $3500 in upgrades and if im not running side by side with them then something is wrong! LOL. Anyhow, thats that I guess!
