I was quoted $300/ gallon for a dark red and $200/ gallon for a dark blue. These were both single stage PPG paints through an auto body store...and definitely not Maaco quality paints.
You could always visit a tractor supply outfit and get a gallon for $25...that stuff is hard as nails, but doesn't come in very many cool colors (any, really).
*EDIT* That silver on my '65 F250 was $1200 per gallon, if you want some good ****...

hope it was house of kolor or sumthing..my gf races soapbox derby cars and it has a 4000 dollar paitn job..all house of kolor paint with hand done pinstriping looks badass

Yup...the going rate for that silver at the time. There's quite a bit of metallic in the paint that jacks up the price, too. I think they used real silver...[sm=alcoholic.gif] Thankfully, I only needed 3 quarts.
