2001 cobra 450-500 Wrhp
My dad is passing his 2001 cobra down to me becuase he is getting a new car. I was wondering if i would be able to get 450-500 wrhp on a stock motor. I play on putting a kenne bell on it within the year. Would i need to get forged internals to be able to run this safely as a daily driver. Right now the car has bassani headers, full borla exhaust, superchip, lowered, intake. Im up for any sugestion on what brands and what i should do the car. thanks

I'm pretty sure you would need to forge the internals. The 01 Cobra came with a forged crank, but that's about it. You need some good pistons and rods, but I haven't really looked into which brands are the best so I can't help you out there. It might be able to handle 450 on the stock motor, but I would consider it risky to have 500 on the stock motor. Another benefit of swapping out the internals would be using dished pistons for lower compression.

400-450 max for stock internals. forge it, and you can go pretty danged high.
that's quite a passing-down gift! haha
you know a vehicle I got passed down to me? a 1994 ford explorer with a blown up trans... had to fix that bi*** before i could use it

haha my dad past down a 94 explorer to me too AND THE EFFIN TRANNY WENT OUT TOO... sorry off the subject... yea 500 is really pushing it .. i would wanna stay around 430 horses till i built up my engine if i were you

haha it was a 5 speed M50D trans. I had to swap it 3 time sbecause the place i bought the rebuilt units from kept giving me duds
eventually I got a good one, and a new clutch etc etc
so yea... the cobra has the same limitations as the GT, but gets there much easier

Nice *** passdown gift, any pics? Sorry I'm not much help with the HP question, except you're gonna love the KB. I drove my friend's '96 Cobra with a KB and 4.30 gears and the thing was absolutely insane, and he was pushin like 390whp. 3 people in the car and it was still a beast (maybe mine's just really slow)
