Yeha I think they do. You can get the heads and intake ported, LT headers CAI, cams. Probably 450hp at the crank NA.

You cant really compair, since you can only use the 96-98 cobra intake with the B series 4v heads, and the 99,01 cobra intake with the tumble port heads. But one of the best intake manifolds for the 4v is the FR500 intake manifold. Because it has butter fly valves with close the short runners until 3500rpm then the short runners open up. So there variable length runners.

so lets go with the $1200 crate motor, heads, headers, cpu and odds and ends your looking at ~405 or 415rwhp for like $2700 hmmmm what's the catch

No cams are $1200, Ported heads about $1600, ported intake about $800, LT headers $500, TB and CAI $500.... So thats $3600 on top of the $1350 for the motor... But its a good strating block for me.. I want to build the short block for a Twin turbo setup.

Thats still better than a $6000 mach 1 crate motor. Making about 150hp more.

I dont know anyone, but I know it can be done. The motor will be strong, I think I will take my time and build it right. It will take some time for me to get to money for each part but it will be bad ***.

DO NOT go with a 2v 5.4. It will make marginally more power than the 4.6, but will never be worth it. The heads are the same, so you'll have a bigger engine with heads that are already to restrictive for the 4.6. I'm not sure about the 3v, I think it's alright, but if you were to put the trouble into it I would go 4v. The 5.4 would be harder than the 4.6 DOHC swap anyway because you would have to get a custom intake to get it to fit.

I've already been through all of these options. I decided against the 5.4 to maintain decent gas mileage. If I were to do one, it would be a 4v 4.6. I want a black car though, and a 5 speed, so I'm just going to wait and get an older Cobra. Idealy a 99 cause I like the new edge, but most of the 99's still have the Teksid block.

The DOHC will bolt right up. All the blocks are the same. Just need wiring/computer.
