Default Cold Air Intake

what up. I was just wandering, what is the best value Cold Air Intake Kit?
And by that I mean that you get the most miles per gallon extra and Horsepower. I heard that K&N was pretty much the best. Does anyone know otherwise? Please post the MPG and HP you get with the Name of the Kit. Thanks a lot

Without trying to sound like a jerk, do a search on here for CAI's. Plenty of info.

You are such a jerk Bob, j/k.
I would look at the JLT CAI. They advertise 10rwhp to a 99-04GT, so to be thats pretty good and they show dyno charts on their websites with the gains. And you can get different colors of intake tubing, pretty cool is you ask me, kinda makes your engine bay look good.

I have a K&N filter... I didn't go with the whole intake system because to me it looked pretty much like the stocker and I cant see getting much better flow with that. With just the filter i've get the exact same mileage I had before and feel what probably amounts to about 1.5-2 rwhp. That and you hear a whistling sound whenever youre in the throttle. I'll end up going with a full CAI when I get a new tb and plenum and I agree that it makes the engine bay look pretty good. Just my .02.

I have the roush fender intake. I would strongly recomend it. It has a knock off K&N filter too. I dont think it gets hot from the heat like some of the bbk's maybe? I dono but it sounds like a turbo when i drive by trees and walls lol.

I have the JLT intake, and it is the s#*t. Like OhOneGT said about the K&N filter whistling, well mine whistles loud. Plus u can get them to paint it so it looks sweet under the hood. As for MPG well I dont think I lost any at all. Im not sure though. You cant go wrong with this CAI.

Most name brand CAIs will be fine. Avoid BOMZ and ebay knock offs. Some swear by the fenderwell kits and others prefer underhood. Fenderwells can be a pain to install and service and I'm told that turns in the tubes BEFORE the MAF is bad. The under hood kits, even with shields, will suck more hot air than the fenderwell kits, but are easier to access and have huge filters (this is good). Also, some folks worry about heat soak on metal tubing, so look for one with plastic tubing I guess.

Personally, I had a fenderwell and switched to the Steeda kit. I felt a difference and love the steeda unit. What can you afford?
