What is the difference between the 96-98 GT and the 99-04 performance wise?

1998 = 225 HP
1999-2004 = 260 (i believe the 2004 made 260 as well but im not sure)

What makes the difference. I know the difference in numbers and that but what is it that causes it?

99 and up came with pi (performace improved) intake manifold, heads, and cams. you can swap these parts over to the 96-98 years and gain about 10-15 more hp because of the raised compression. i have non-pi heads which is why i am sad.

weelllll, you could juice your car and make it as fast.

Or you could blow it.

But if you want it the same as the 99+ then youd have to spend like 1500 for a PI swap and then add cams and heads and a tune and thatll prolly be upwards of 2000-2500?
