Default how to tell

How do you tell if there is a shift kit already installed in your car becuase i have an 02 gt coupe and it shifts pretty hard most of the time i get on it is there anyway of really telling
its used obviously

take ure shift boot off and see if its the stock shifter.. that way its for sure.

ummm he has an automatic


just take a gentle accel through 1-2 and 2-3, see how it shifts


stock GTS should shift pretty darn smooth from those two shifts

George hit it right on the head..

Short of taking the transmission pan off and checking the valve body, you can usually only tell by the 1-to-2, and the 2-to-3 shift... If you ease into it, it should kick like a mule...
