Default Hood Scoop

I have an 00 gt so it doesn't have the fake hood scoop that you see on most of the other gt's around. I kinda like them so I was wondering where the best place to get one would be. I looked on several websites and they are around 200 but they are primed. Is this the best deal I'm going to get?

On ebay I can find them for a lot cheaper but most are used and don't seem to have the required hardware to mount it. Also I found some on ebay for 100 that say they are 'as good as' original. Will something like that be alright or are they inferior to original scoops. Remember I'm going to have to paint this thing so getting one that is already primed would save me some money later on.

I feel like I have a 6 half the time because of the lack of a hood scoop and the decal that was on the car when I bought it haha. Anways, all of your opinions are welcome.

The problem I'm finding with this color though is that it is a 3 stage paint job and I've seen cars with the same paint code that are noticeably darker...I think...

I actually think I did find one but it didn't say anything about mounting hardware so I would have to buy that somewhere also.

Don't get one at all. I'm one to think they do look kind of cool. Then I think it's just a fake hood scoop with a piece of plastic mounted on the front of it. Not to mention they'll make your hood shake like a marimba on steroids at high speeds.

If you are going to get one though, go with factory parts if you can find them.

I'd say junk yard, but you'de find a 427 sohc motor in a JY before you found all the parts to a fake GT hood scoop.

Stay without it, thats what keeps the 99 and 00 different from the 01-04's. Paying 100 bucks for it IS NOT worth it, throw in 200 more and just get urself a new hood. Some cars look better without the scoop, like urs with ur color for instance. IMO, ditch the spoiler and u would have one nice lookin coupe.

Hmm...ditch the spoiler...not a bad idea. Would I be able to clean off all of that gunk beneath it though?
