Default GT wants 00’ Ind. Rear Su

Hey Guys,

First off, I'm new to the forum, and I wanted to say what's going on to everyone...I'm not all that new to Mustangs.. I previously owned a 1973 Fastback w/ a 351C, blown and built. Got too nutty, and over boosted engine. Kids.. heh... Anyway, I also owned an 87 GT w/ a 306ci.. Fun, and torquey..

Anyway, my new purchase has me extremely excited. The new Stangs definitely handle and perform better than the ones I've experienced.. However, prior to this car, I owned a 1995 Eagle Talon TSi AWD. Very powerful, and agile little car, even though it was a pig for weight.

My main question is, is it possible to swap out rear ends from say, the new Cobra's w/ the Independent Rear Suspension, easily? Cost isn't necessarily an issue, but I'm looking more for feasibility.

Thanks guys, don't know if anyone would have done that, but the 4.6 is coming out soon for a new setup.. Just wanted some insight..

JT

95 Talon TSi AWD <---- 12.6@106.4

00 Mustang GT <---- Doesn't get anymore stock than this

you don't have to use the one from the new cobras, you can find practically a drop-in from summit that's made for your car. good luck, and let me know how you end up doing it!!

well they baically jsut chop the entire rear ind susp outta a 99 + cobra and sell it.. and i'm pretty sure they say u can just bolt it all up... that is once u tear the old solid axle out.... me i'm sticking with my solid axle.lol

they showed in an articel in my bible that this one guy broke a half shaft on his 03 cobra cause he launched soo hard and the track had soo much traction.... that wouldn't have happened if he had a solid axle....lol
