gas mileage...mine owns
i filled up my tank when i picked my car u pin brownsville, reset the trip odometer just to see how far i could go on highway before i had to fill up again. I went 340 miles and still had a little less than a quarter of a tank left. Is that normal for a 99 GT? I was shifting about 2000rpms just to get better gas mileage, but i was reading a former post and most were getting like 210 - 230 mpg...What do u guys get?

Last time I tried to get my gas mileage, with mostly light driving, a few romps, shifting at 1900-2100 RPM, I came out with like 280 miles on a tank. Now, I've added a lot of rotational mass (cobra brakes, new wheels/tires) so I can expect it to be less... a lot of my driving is city and summer's running out so I've been a little harder on my stang as of late.

On the highway I get around 22-23 mpg, but city driving is ridiculous, even shifting at 2000-2200 RPM I get 14-16, with only slight mods. I'm actually really confused, I dont know if GT's have a 5 gallon reserve tank or what but I get down to a eighth tank with only 150-170 on the trip. and can only put about 9-10 gallons in it before its full again. is this right?

IDK, but somethings up with mine. I got it mid June and have done K&N, oil, 2 bottles of gas treatment, and Seafoam in the tank and intake. I do mostly highway and the best I have gotten was 18.75. That was doing 60 miles of 55mph hwy and 5-10 city. I need to change the plugs someday.

of course ur gonna get that many miles on highway driving if you think about it. less than 1/4 on the needle is about 12.5-13 gallons of gas. and if you did highway thats about 25 mpg according to the epa. so ur about average if not a lil bit better.

Since I've gotten my car back I've really watched my mileage and how it's decreased. I have gotten as low as 147 miles on a full tank & as high as 194. It depends on how much highway driving I'm doing compared to the stop-go crap. It also depends on how I'm romping on the throttle. Those cams add a particular sound...you all know what I mean, and sometime u just gotta here it idle and then nail it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
