Default Headlights . . .

Ok so heres a tough one lets see if anyone has the answer. Im having some serious headlight problems. Ok so when the lights are on only the right side headlight comes on but when i do the brights they both come on. I replaced the bulbs and still the same thing. Also my lights are very VERY dim. I measured the voltage at the headlights and i only 8 volts out of each side instead of 12. My system is doing 12 volts just fine everywhere else. Anyone else have any problems like this. Im going to tear into the headlight system tonight when i get home to get to the bottom of this becuase i just bought an HID conversion kit for $150 (normally they're like 300) and i got new smoked black headlights to replace the cheesy 2000 Mustang clear chrome ones. Anyone have any answers?

Check the sockets for corrosion. You know... where ya plug the lights in. That is most likely your culprit. Clean em out.

Ill be damned i never even thought of that! My car is up there on the miles so that makes since to me. . . that would be a LOT easier than rewiring the whole headlight circut haha

unhook your battery, before you spray anything in there, or the current will travel throught the harness, and kill the fuse or relay, or something

Yeah that didnt work . . . . What it was was the harnesses where it hooks to the lamps were messed up so i wired in some new harnesses and i was on my way. A good strong 12.5 volts and everythings cool now. Now i can put in those HID's . . .
