Default question about ethics...

I know this is probably the last place to ask this question.. but...

I found a terminator for a nice price around here... and i was thinking about trading my car in for it, if they don't mind dealing... Now... is it ethical to bring my car in for a trade, then remove my tune so i'd be able to use my xcal2 tuner with the terminator. Keeping in mind that once i remove the tune, the speedo correction will become all messed up, and be off and set for stock 3.27 gears. Is that ethical? or if i make this deal, should I do it? ahah

If the xCal will work with the Cobra then yeah it's ethical. If it doesn't, then leaving the tune on the GT, and selling the tuner to someone else is more ethical. Haha!

haha that's what i think... lol - i believe the xcal2 WILL work with the Cobra. I wonder what i'll get for my car if i trade it in... they're sellin my car with more milage and less babied for 20k there!!! even though im expecing about what i owe on the car, which atleast won't be that bad, lol... it's only worth it for a terminator!

It sounds like you might be working w/ a dealership.. I say let them testdrive your car, give you an offer and you go home and remove it before you bring it back to trade it in..

Stick it to the dealership if you can.. They stick it to everyone else..

The dealer will fix any problems they find with the car before they sell it again, unless the auction it. Plus, since it is a newer car any problems that they find may be covered by warranty anyway.

The GT has a different computer than a terminator and ive never seen a computer that works for both. I used to work at a dealership and if they find out you have put in gears without tuning it theyll drop the warrenty and its a false advertisement of the actual mileage. So it can get tricky there. Also warrenty is voided if you have a tuner on it. Theyll run there little tune up on it when they get it and before they sell it and if you leave the program on the ecm they cant use their computers on it so they wont be happy.

You worked at a dealership that actually cared about the condition & mileage accuracy of their used cars?

Give me there name! If I ever need to buy a used car, I'd like to go to them... [8D]
