You call shifting at 2800 rpms driving conservatively? I normally shift around 2000 rpms when i'm driving in the city. I'm not entirely sure w/ your sixer, but you shouldn't have to take it up to 2800 to keep up w/ traffic and drive conservatively.

I have stock gears in my car, shift anywhere from 2000-2500, and drive mainly highway with some city. I went about 180 miles on a half tank (7.5 gallons). That averages out to about 24 MPG; for the kind of car I have and how I drive it sometimes, I'm actually impressed with the milage I'm getting. In city the gauge does move pretty quick though.

I think some of you guys must have a pretty lead foot. 12 MPG in a stock V6, are ya joking? I wouldn't think it was even possible to get 12 MPG unless you were WOT all the time.
I still get 21 to 22 MPG on the highway, averaging between 65 and 75 MPH (depending on the speed limit).
Of course, I usually get between 8 and 13 MPG city, but thats mainly the lead foot factor.

When you buy a car like this you tell yourself, " if I have to get good gas mileage I'll just take it easy!" Well saying it one thing, and doing it is another. Once you get in the car that theory flies out the window as your doing 45 in second.

Hell, I picked up about 1 to 1.5 MPG on the highway with my vortech. It will never pay the supercharger back, but it's a nice bonus.
