supercharging a 2v?
In the near future i want to supercharge my 04 GT.....what is the best supercharger for that car if i go with forged internals or stock......what kind of mods does a 2v need in order to handle the supercharger, (forged pistons/rods/block/heads, upgraded fuel pump/injectors, MAF sensor), I would prefer one of the positive displacement SC, such as Kenne Bell, Saleen, Whipple, etc., if they can fit on a 2v stock intake, rather than a centrifugal SC like the paxton, vortech, etc. I'm not exactly sure what the difference is between the two, like does one tend to make more power than the other, etc., so can someone explain this please. Now my main idea for now was to buy an Accufab TB/Plenum, but if like a year, I buy a whipple or kenne bell SC, the Accufab won't really be used because, obviously, thats where the SC will be mounted, so i would have wasted the 400 bucks for the accufab. well im not typing anymore....this is kinda gettin long, please help....thanks guys

Go with the Kenne Bell...get it from Modular Powerhouse and get Tim to tune the car for you. With his tune you can run 9psi on stock internals and not have to worry about anything. He has never lost a engine.

Kenne bell is the best i dont care what anyone says hahah! Stage 3 heads and new cams would help A LOT but it isnt required. They say 14 psi is the safe limit for boost if you have stock internals but we could argue about that all day.

RE: supercharging a 2v?
The difference between the Centris (Vortech)and the Twin Screws (KB)is the twins are contant boost, as soon as u step on the pedal its there, where as the centris kick in at the higher rpm range. With a centri u can get more power though and I couldnt tell u why, thats just what ive heard. As for the TB and plenum well, the plenum would be useless but if u bought the saleen u could use the TB, I dont know about the KB though. Also, if u ran 9psi and didnt go over u could push 380-400rwhp and not worry about the motor, but go higher and u will start to see problems. So it just depends on what u want, if u want the high boost then u will need to get a forged motor, if not just get the S/C.

go to pipes, boost and juice, there is plenty of good reading there to answer your questions. Or try the search feature.
after you don't do either of those, please post about what gears to buy.

I hope you're joking. If not, you need to read more posts on the subject and not give out information. Perhaps you should read the kenne bell website and see what they have to say about running 14psi on stock internals...
And nobody here would argue that that is a safe amount of boost.

RE: supercharging a 2v?
14 psi is def too much boost on stock 2v internals. The highest id go is 10 maybe 11 but then your even pushing it. Stick with the 9 at first then after you get the urge for more power upgrade your internals and then you can go ***** to the wall.
