Default Rear end grind

I have a stock 03 GT, and has about 26,000 miles on it and just today making a hard turn from a dead stop to first gear (say turning left or right out of the driveway) the rear end is grinding. I refilled the fluid for the gears (which was a little low) but it still sounds like the rear end or suspension is making some noise. any ideas what it could be? Thanks

Yeah checked for a leak, and the fluid was a bit low, but shouldn't have been low enough to create that much noise. We had it up on a lift, and i ran it through 1-4th gears, and there was still some noise and didn't sound smooth even up in the air. so im stumped.
