i hear ya man. Most people agreed ford made the wrong turn in 96 abandoning the 5.0 pushrod and replacing it with the 4.6 ohc. But from a business aspect ford has outseld camaros and firebirds to the point where those cars were stopped in 02. It seems ford is once again in the right path with the 05 stangs in the new 3v vvt 4.6. i mean 300 hp and 320 torque is not too bad. I just hope that when the new camaro z28 comes out the mustang gt can have similar numbers to it in terms of hp/torque. Cuz I kind of hate that a stock 93 lt1 can be similar in 1/4 mile times to my car that is 10 years newer.

As for the shelby its a just an incredible engine in a not so well designed car. I mean a 5.4 DOHC forged everything 500 hp sc car should is what people are buying. I really dont how it looks, and as others have said 57/43 weight distribution, and the close to 4k lbs.

that would kicka$$, but I don't think ford cares about that. They just want to sell, sell, sell! I don't blame them, but I want to see a stang to eat up all the chevy lovers around here. GT500 is our only hope!!!

Uh ford doesnt give two $#!+'s about the Mustang! The mustang market is not just us guys that want to beat GM's. For every one GTO or Firebird or Camaro GM sells or has sold Ford has sold 100 mustangs. Besides thats why Ford has FRPP!!!! The GT500 IS NOT to compete with the Z-06 [sm=icon_beat.gif] its to compete with the new camaro thats coming out. Ford owns the z-06 and the Viper. Its called the Ford GT. A Z-06 to a mustang is apples to oranges. Its too totally different markets.

Yeah but they mustang wont hold a candle to the performance of a z-06 around a real race track. Again, thats what they have the GT for. So many ppl say there cars are soooo fast. . . on a drag strip . . .thats only one aspect of performance. If you cant make it around an SCCA track then your car doesnt have $#!+
