Rate my planned purchases...
Ok, guys, I've been working this summer, and I'm looking at spending at least some of my money on my car. I have an exhaust on order, which my parents are paying for as part of a gift. Here's my list of possible mods that I'm looking at right now...stainless steel Bumper inserts, a 14-inch black antenna, a grill delete, a chin spoiler, a CAI, some clear fogs, and an MGW shifter. I realize these aren't performance parts, but I'm looking to clean up the outer appearence of my car, and I figure these are a few (relatively) inexpensive ways to do that. Now, I'm looking at spending about 600-650 on this stuff, and then the rest, which should be close to a grand, on a suspension and maybe some other work. Anyone got suggestions on what to do with around 1500 dollars instead of this?

Yea spend it on suspension because once you do all those dress-up mods, your call will need better suspension because it wont be able to handle all the extra power...[&:]

1500 bucks?
LTs: 650
O/R X: 200~
Catback: 400~
Gears: 300-400
A little over budget, and this assumes you can get the LTs put on for free. If not, then skip em, get the midpipe/catback/gears and look into some drag raidals or suspesion mods etc.

You should definatly skip the CAI and get the gears installed. If you get the exhaust/gears done at the same time you won't even recognise your car when you drive it for the first time.
There is almost literally no downside to getting gears and so much gain. Gears should be everyones first mod.

My biggest beef with gears right now is that I'm headed off to college in a week, and seeing as how it's a 3 hour drive that I'll be making fairly often, I'm not too pumped about either slowing down (I average about 80-85 on the drive) or having my revs over 3K. That said, once I see how often I'm making that drive once I'm up there, gears may become an option again.
