Default 7 psi shorten engine life?

I'm looking at a paxton supercharger kit that runs at 7psi. Will this shorten the engine life of my daily driver?
also the price is at around 3200. is this a good deal?

I usualy shift around 2-2.5k rpm and about once a drive I stomp on it. The tune will most likely be conservative

Well, since a supercharger increases pressure inside the engine, then by common sense, engine life should be shorter. But if you have well built internals then it shouldnt be that bad.

7 psi should be fine. A good tune is everything. There are guys here running 10+ psi on stock internals for thousands of miles so far, and they don't have issues. Hell, ford makes a 6 psi kit for NPI motors and another for PI. Since they are very conservative, you can probably run 8 psi with a good tune and still have a motor last 150K.

great thanks. I probably will hold off on the blower for now. I'm planning on keeping this car for a long time so I want it too last a long time.

Any part that allows additional performance will shorten the life of any engine. How you drive will also be a factor in when your engine will finally quit...

As stated before, a good tune and driving habits. At 7 psi it will last a loooong time unless you have your foot in it and in boost everytime you take off, good luck.

depends on the fuel you use as well, a friend of mine has an 03 stang running 18 PSI on stock internals and has comitted to leaded racing fuel for good... engine has been fine for 2 years so far... I wouldn't recommend this, just giving you an example
