Getting a Mustang Gt into the 12's for 2k
Hey everybody I am a new member of the forum and there seems to be a great wealth of info here. I am the proud owner of a 2003 mustang gt 5 speed. The only mods it has are eibach lowering springs and a cold air intake. (the mods werent installed at the time of the pic). So I have decided that I would attempt to accomplish something with this car and sorta make a project out of it. I wanna see if it is possible to get a 2003 mustang gt into the 12's without using any sort of Forced Induction, but only spending 2k. My plans to achieve this end are as follows:
1. 4.10's-$200 plus 2-$300 to install ($500.00)
2. 75 mm throttle body and accufab plenum ($400.00)
3. steeda underdrive pullies ($175.00)
4. Drag Radials ($500.00?)
5. Tune (3-$400.00)
6. Lighten the car, but not removing amenities such as air conditioning or radio
Total that puts me close to 2k. Do you think I need a set of cams or is this enough to achieve that I am looking for? Any info or thoughts would be welcome.
James
P.S. There are pics of my car over in the New Members Section

i would consider other suspension mods such as upper and lower ca's and subframes. More power isnt always the answer (besides you aint getting that much rwhp from the pullies and/or tb/pl), getting that power to the ground effectively is.

I think you are pipe dreaming. You'd need every bolt on imaginable to crack 13.0 and that is going to cost a lot more than $2,000. What you want to do is just not realistic, unless they came out with some new info I don't know about.
Didn't that JDaniel dude have a full bolt-on GT that barely cracked 13.0? That was before he got his 12.5 second 700 rwhp Cobra

I am by no means an automotive expert, but from what I understand upper and lower control arms aid in weight transfer. (correct me if Im wrong). Also do you think getting into the 12's for less than 2 grand is even possible and is my list of mods any good? What would u suggest any other alteration to my list or anything? Also what would a set of upper and lower control arms run me?
Thanks...
Thanks...

Yea speaking of new parts, any of you guys seen or heard about the new Anderson 2v intake manifold for our cars? Thing is sick supposed to add 30hp from what I heard from my local performance shop. Goes for only 600 too, at least thats what my shop is selling it for. They said its already really limited and when they are released it will be hard to get one for a long time if you dont have a preorder on it.
