bbk h-pipe- 140$ - http://store.summitracing.com/partde...2D1535&FROM=MG
flowmaster 40's catback- 320$ - http://store.summitracing.com/partde...D17215&FROM=MG

grand total of 700$

yeah that's actually probably the best bang-for the buck setup. You will be pleased with the results too, because flows plus no cats always sound good, and the headers just make it even better

Sometimes folks over look this idea but...

On my last car, I went to an independent Custom Exhaust shop, and they did my ENTIRE exhaust, from the turbo back to include High Flow Cat, 3", all welded for just under $550. They were also done in under 3 hours.. Not bad, since the cheapest Aftermarket system was well over $1200 for what I got...

Just a thought... Shop around locally too, since it saves shipping/handling and anxiety of whether you got "beat," for your money/merchandise...

On my 96 GT I had in HS, the local exhaust guy put on Flows, cut out my back 2 cats, and gave me some chrome tips for under $500. I got complements from everyone. Even some guy in a Saleen waved me down to ask about it.

Those headers are crap and will rust and will be needing to be replaced in a few years.

we had a dual exhaust put on our 69 impala and it was all custom, because I could not find a kit...

custom exhausts are usually pretty good, just find a reputable shop because they will know what sounds like what and usually it's equal to a kit you can buy and usually will cost less....

it's also sweet to be unique and one of a kind

That's what I'm saying.. The way I look at it is this... It's exhaust.. Who cares if Bassani made it, or the President.. I don't. If it works, doesn't leak, and doesn't fall off in a year, then I'm sold.. Stainless steel is best, but Aluminized Steel will work too, provided you don't drive your car too much in a snowy region, or through substantially rainy seasons all year round... Mandrel bent is best, Crush bent is good, but I suggest that if you go crush bent, go w/ a pipe diameter that's slightly larger than what you originally wanted, since the crush bending can actually hurt exhaust velocity...

if i were you (which im not) i'd consider not even getting LT headers...

its gonna be more than 240 for some that are any good, and then install is gonna run 400's+

look into an uncatted midpipe, then just a catback of your choice i'd bet thats what about 80% of everyone here did
