How about doing the PI swap, and just f-ck the bullsh-t??

If you're that addament about porting/polishing heads, pick up a set of used heads from a junkyard/ebay/other source and have a machine shop port/polish/rebuild.. That way, when you do your swap, it saves you a boat load of down time.. It's only a little bit more work to get the heads off at that point in the swap...

so i ran into a cadallic cts maybe a 99 or 2000 year i got along side him and he would not slow down to 45, well i got 3.73s in my car and we went from a 70 punch and he pulled on me so should i be pissed or not
Question: Was it a regular Cadillac or a Cadillac CTS-V? Cadillac CTS-V has the new Corvette LS2 engine with 400hp. Only difference is it's heavier and detuned a bit.

no i dont have a pi swap i thought maybe because of the gear ratio is why i lost that race since we were already at 70 mph
Why would you figure that? Anything shorter than stock with help with accelleration, all across the board.

The swap here isn't just the heads, it involves the cams and intake also. You can make some considerable power gains with the combination of PI heads, PI intake, and appropriate cams. A friend of mine has a 98 with the FRPP PI heads, PI intake, VT stage 2 cams, + 100 shot of nitrous. I don't know his dyno numbers, but a little while ago he ran a 13.12 to beat an 01 (I think it was an 01) trans am ws6 at Milan (trans am put down 13.4). He's got some other things done to his car (pulleys, plug wires, some suspension, etc.)... But I'm just sayin', you could save up and go big later on:-)

To answer the original question, I think a P&P on the NPI heads will run you like 15 rwhp.

i want to save for the swap but whould it be cheaper to take the heads on my car and have them ported and polished or do the swap, as for the race at 70-75 with my gears iam already at 2500rpm i have no pull left so the caddy left me
Hell thats when my car starts to pull
+1

The fact that you raced from a roll in a NPI GT shows you don't know much about your car. NPI's choke over 4500rpms due to a restrictive intake and low lift cams. You were dead in the water before you even hit the gas You can get your stock heads ported and get good gains but to have them done right by a good shop will cost alot of money. If your on a budget just get a complete PI swap from www.parkwayperformance.com That will wake your pig up big time!

Hey, droptop, what about cams for the PI swap? What kind of gains are there to be had with PI heads and intake + VT stage 2 or Compcams XE262AH (for example)... I'm tryin' to do some research here, seems like you are one of the most knowledgeable guys here, specially for the 4.6 SN95's...

a pi swap will add 40-50rwhp to a basically stock npi...add vt st 1's and you will add another 25-30rwhp to that so just from the pi heads/intake/ plus vt cams and you can easily add 75rwhp...thats a nice gain for say @$1800 dollars if you use all new parts.
