i finally got my car back after spark plug blow out.geez Ford really needs to recall these heads. costing pple money. escpecially me. after talking to the tow truck driver he said that he just picked up an explorer with the same problem. But anyway i got my car back.

What is wrong with those heads? Mine is a npi head so I dont know what problem you are talking about

well apperantly the heads that i have has 4 threads on them instead of 8 which they changed in 03 i heard. and i guess someone overtightened the spark plugs and they blew out.

We had a 5.4 blow a plug,2400.00 for repair including both head gaskets,took out the coil pack too.I hope my 99 4.6 holds out.......................Gary

funny thing is we had a 4.0L SOHC v6 explorer come in today and it sounded like a tractor, the driver's side rear spark plug blew out too!!


wtf is up with fords and blowing spark plugs out..... I had better make a round and snug all mine down lmao

yea they heli coiled it thats all they can do or get a new head. But anyways i have a guestion should i take my car to the track or race with them heli coiling it?
