Default Mid Pipe

I would like to have someone explain to me the pros and/or cons of X style versus H style mid pipes (off road). I am currently running NA, custom tuned mildly, with CAI otherwise stock. Preparing to add performance exhaust (off road mid-pipe and exhaust). Thank you for your time.

Regards,

Chad

Generally...

X gives you a little more power in the higher rpms. Also won't be as loud and raspy as the H.
H gives you more low end power. Not very effective at high rpms. Loud muscle car sound.

People will probably say different things about their experiences with the sound...

If you really are adding "performance" exhaust, start looking into headers too, you need to get a short midpipe to accomodate mid and longtube headers. Order them at the same time, that way down the road you won't have to reorder another midpipe to accomodate headers... just food for thought.
