Default Lincoln 4.6 dohc swap into a 96 gt

I have an opportunity to buy a 4.6 dohc out of a 93 mark 8 lincoln. the engine has low miles and is guaranteed to run and I think i want to put it in my mustang. I plan on in a few years to build up a nice dohc motor but simply cant afford it right now. What do i need to swap this into my car stock. I have heard everything will line up except the intake. apparently i can bolt my npi intake right on the motor. any help is appreciated

thanks guys

Gary

I'd use the intake from the DOHC engine. You'll also want the computer. Other than that, it should be fairly straight forward. That Lincoln engine will have the block you want to use for your build up as well.

what if i want to use my current intake. my thought are that if i use my current intake i will be able to use everything else I already bought i.e. plenum, tb, cai. also how would i route the air into the dohc intake. it looks like it goes straight down???

I had one of these for a while, but don't remember what they look like topside. Got a pic? You may be able to sell you 2V stuff to offset the cost.

You will be able to use that motor, just the computer is different. The wiring harness may be different too. But you cant say you wont be able too, because you can. But if you want to reuse the wiring harness and computer get a 96 and above. Because of the OBD-II but there are ways around it if you get a 93-96.

well this 93 has the wiring harness and ecu. should i buy it or not is kind of the question.

i also can buy a 96 with 102k on it for about $500. im just looking for a motor that will last another 20-30k more and then i will be in a position to rebuild it and have some fun...

what kind of mileage are people getting out of these engines., i have 130k on my 4.6 sohc and it still hauls the mail

i thought you didn't need the harness or computer you just used yours and had to extend a few wires.
