i put down 4K on mine (total was 15,00 at the time i think) and i pay about 270 a mo. but it all depends on your credit, the cost of the car, the length of the loan etc. but for your price range and if your credit really that good, it souldn't be a problem. remember to shop around for the best deal for an interest rate on your loan, that will help a ton!!

Monthly payments? What are those?

My insurance is bad enough (still 100% clean record, though), having to make payments on the car would be insane. In short, my stang is, and has been since day 1, fully paid off.

I paid $17 K for my '04 when it was about a year old with 4500 miles, I financed 10G @4.5% (Ford Credit) with gap insurance to cover in case the car was totalled, $257 per month. $600. a year for insurance, full coverage, Liberty Mutual, Virginia. I'm enjoying being 50 and reaping the savings.

luckily mine is paid off completely. i had enough money saved and got enough money from my 99 f-350 that i could pay it off in about 3 months with only two big payments. parents bought it officially from the dealer and then i payed them for it.
