well, I am under the impression that a full CAI on our 99-04' are not completely worthless, but not worth anythign when compared to a F/I car, or even an 05+ GT.

I am not sure of actuall numbers, but my car already had a K&N air filter already, so all I did was remove the air silencer, so I can't imagine I'm losing more than 1-2 hp over a full fenderwell intake kit that costs 200+ dollars.

That site estimates 4.5hp. I bet thats true. Do it, there cheap. Plus your car will sound better with it in.

I really think MOST people buy a CAI just so they can have a cool looking shiny chrome air tube under their hood

you'll get like 1HP more with a shiny new intake over a drop-in filter.

If you want my opinion, which you may not. Don't by an intake. Look at the stock design, it's round and allows a lot of air to pass through. A filter change is a good idea but don't expect any gains.

Save your money for something else. I have a jlt and would honestly sell it if someone was willing to come put my stock one back on (im too lazy).

CAI is BS. Just drop in a new k&n and be done with it. I wasted $170 on a MAC fenderwell and it caused me to run rich because of the bend before the MAF. It looked pretty but was a waste of money really.

But if you want a fenderwell intake go with JLT they are the only ones that knew about the bend causing problems.

Or go to home depot and spend $20 on some PVC pipe and build your own. Me and my buddy did it then painted it and guess what it looks like he has a JLT fenderwell intake.

Watch out for big puddles!!!!!!!!!
