What width rear wheel spacers ?
Ok, I have a 2000 GT, stock suspension and stock wheels.
What width rear hubcentric spacers should I fit to make it look right ? nothing crazy, just right.
Thanks in advance.

RE: What width rear wheel spacers ?
I've got 96 GT and I'm getting new wheels and tires, 18x9 and 18x10.5 with 255/35 and 285/35. Me and my mechanic was inspecting my currect suspension problems cause I am getting uneven tread wear (maybe just the alignment cause we didn't find anything major). We noticed that I am getting rubbing on my front sway bar on both sides from the tire, I only have 245/45/17 on there right now. Could this be caused by a bad alignment? Right away my mechanic said I am going to need spacers all around, is this true?
I AM NOT TRYING TO CREATE ANOTHER DRIVABILITY PROBLEM [sm=badidea.gif]

Bolt on spacers are fine, however there is a safety issue you might want to consider with the slide on type. With slide on's, the lug nuts have a tendency to want to back off, seems like you can never keep them tight. I know this because a friend ran 3 inch pro stars on the front of a stang and used spacers to clear the callipers.
10.5 inch wheels do a better job of sticking them out ther, plus the lip on most of them look cool. If spacers are $99 bucks a side, you could add another $100 and just get a 10.5 inch wide version of the wheels you have. Tires may be an issue though, mastercraft 285s are $135 bucks a piece. Thats about $550 - $600 for back wheels and tires.... hmm... guess its a tad more than 200. haha ..

So slide on spacers are better for safety?

RE: What width rear wheel spacers ?
Also, everyone that has 18x9 and wider rear wheels have wheel spacers? Or is this an optional thing? Cause I'm not sure if the rubbing on my front sway bar is from a bad alignment or and indication that spacers will be a neccesity?
