RE: people with cams..
sorry for posting with no help, but i did stage 1s and i wanted stage 2s. I have heard (could be a load of bunk) that you can change springs without taking hte heads off. The guy who did mine wouldnt do it w/o taking them off so i went with stage 1s. we never even talked about a price to do it. I thought there was a way to pressure the cylinders so the valves wouldnt drop while doing spring replacement so you wouldnt have to take the heads off. Then again, i could just be making that up. Curious to hear some responses.

You can use air pressure or cotton rope to hold the valves. Get a haynes manual at the parts store. It will tell you how long it will take, the tool to buy or rent, and the proper procedure to do it.

I spent about $1000. I bought the cams, valve springs and a ford specific valve spring compression tool. I installed them myself so I spent no money on the install just my time. Theres a fitting that you can buy which screws into the spark plug whole in the head and you attact an air line to it. I used 120psi and it held the valves closed just fine while I replaced the springs while they were on the block. It was kinda difficult on a few of the springs because they were on the block but it can be done.

Well i was wondering because my buddy was going to give me vt stage 2 cams and new springs imstalled for950$. So it was cams 450, springs 75 and install 400, and room for odds and ends. So thats sounds decent then huh?
