I plan to do gears as my next upgrade. I have a manual V6 and people were saying to go with the 3.73 because I have a manual. What do you guys recommend?

Nah...they're big w/ the N/A drag racers... I assume since you have a boat load less torque, and gears multiply torque, you'd want something really low (numerically high).

Plus, you won't have as many traction issues as the V8's w/ 4.30's

Well let me tell you my experience. I wanted to go 4:10 but everybody said if you plan to go NOS or Supercharger get 3:73 so I got 3:73. Had a shop do it, I do the majority of bolt ons but gears are over my head so I pick up my car and expext a raped ape drag machine and get not much difference! Some torque and about 300 RPM increase in each gear, guys its not that much in these cars,go higher at least 3:90 if you want to wake your car up for the money.

hey MD and NOS MAN it seems that your rpms arent the same as each others. it seemed NOS MANs rpms were higher than yours MD. now when im on the highway i go about 80 the speed limit is 70 but alot of ppl go 80 . i have to use the high way to get to the drag strip. annd also have to use the highway to see my mother inlaw. now what MD said i figured it would be about 2400 at 70. and i was figuering about 2600 or so at 80 wich is not bad. but i dont wanna be cruisin for 40mins over 3000 rpms. are the cobra and gt geared diff that it made the cobra rev higher? because i want 4:10 but i dont want to be reving the sh*t outta my car on the highwya.

Fellas don't forget you have to figure in tire height when figuring your Rpms/gear changes.

Have any of you moderators, &/or regular posters here considered a FAQ section on this forum? It would 'REALLY' help with all the redundant threads such as...well...this one[&:].

I think it would be a good idea. Anybody else?
