need help, please!!
i have a 98 gt and my radiator light keeps coming on, i have checked my coolant levels and they are always level, never too low and never high. i do not have an owners manual so i was wondering if any of you guys could try and find out why this is. please help, thank you.
Not sure about the '98 yellow, but on my '93 5.0 the low coolant light has nothing to do with the radiator, but with the overflow tank. The tank has a sensor attached to the cap and goes to the bottom of the coolant tank. If the tank is below the normal "cool" level, the light goes on. This has only happened to me on one occasion, when I had a small radiator leak that wouldn't allow coolant to overflow into the recovery tank. Anyone else have an idea?
Sounds like makarovboy has a good explaination for the problem. Just FYI- I downloaded a *.PDF (Adobe Acrobat)owners manual for my 02 GT from www.ford.com. I think you have to sign up on the "My Ford" site to access the information, but you might give it a shot. They don't ask too much personal information and they might have a downloadable owners manual for your 'stang (and other goodies). I have all the manuals for mine but I wanted to be able to pull it up on my PC.

Good luck...

MY RED 98 HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. DO YOU STILL HAVE THE STOCK INTAKE MANIFOLD ON THE CAR. IF SO LOOK AT THE FRONT OF THE MANIFOLD ON THE PASSENGER SIDE, YOU MAY HAVE A CRACK IN THE PLASTIC THAT LEAKS ON TOP OF THE BLOCK AND EVAPORATES OFF SO WILL WILL NOT SEE A LEAK OR PUDDLE. EASY WAY TO CHECK IS TO CRANK THE CAR AND REV THE MOTOR . AS YOUR RPM'S RAISE , THE PRESSURE IN THE MANIFOLD WILL RAISE AS WELL. LOOK FOR A SPRAY COMING FROM THE FRONT OF THE INTAKE MANIFOLD. ALSO CHECK BY THE THERMOSTAT
