I haven't been able to get the headrests out. What is the trick to releasing them?

lol during a week i was doing the same, my gf and my friend go in the car and im like "dont even think of moving the seat, my friend is kind of "big" if you know what i mean, for the head rests i dont think you can, when you take them out, you will notice this little hole where the latch goes in to keep the headrest in the seat, its almost at the end, then only way you could do that is if you modify the piece of metal that goes into the seat, maybe oulling it out form the head rest or making another hole in it

d3mon,
Thanks for the MustangTuning link. I had not seen them there before. That sure sounds like the quick, inexpensive and good looking way to solve the problem. I have other things to worry about than trying to remember to tell everyone who gets in the passenger seat, "DO NOT move the seat!"
Do you (or anyone) know of a replacement headrest that is taller? The TWINKIE version that we have looks nice but only comes up to the middle of my neck. If I ever get hit from behind, I'll be picking my head up out of the back seat. Or is there a way to make the TWINKIE headrests move up 4-5 inches?

lol i had trouble with that too the difficult way is using a wire hanger insert the hanger in the front of the head rest till you hear a click... is a pain in the a$$$ the easiest way is, check in the bottom of the seat going from behind, there is a long plastic piece holding the skin to the the seat, open it so you can insert your hand under the skin from behind the seat, you will reach the head rest lock, if you notice when you push the head rest up there is this latch that lock the head rest, now push the headrest in so the latch is open and with a flat screwdriver pry and hold the latch open and push the head rest off, it should come of really easy
