Heat and altitude can make a huge difference they may run 15's I wouldnt say they are running like crap but colorado air on a warm summer night will make any car run like junk also some tracks have traction issues

I went to Test 'N' Tune last night at Memphis Motorsports Park. From what I understand, it is a very good track, the temp was about 70-73, little humidity. A 2003 GT convertible with a K&N ran a 14.1.

Here's a question to a lot of you 15 second drivers..

Are you power shifting?? Or are you just off the gas, shift, then back on it??

Power shifting rules for drag racing.. I guaratee it'll take a half a second off your car, if not more (when done correctly..)

See, it's also a little different because the air is so dense and hot (I love in Fla too).. You'd need a nice cool night to get a good idea of what you're running...

I ran my car last weekend in the morning. I live in South Carolina where we have high humidity and high temps especially as of late 98+ degrees. I ran a 14.1 in 1/4 and 9.2 in 1/8 fully stock. I have a 2001 Bullitt GT the factory ratings say 14.07 so i was off by less than .05 of a second. The factory specs for as stock GT say around 14.8 in 1/4 so if your beating that your doing something right. As for tire spin through the 60' you probably need to work on your launch, I had mild spin in 1st and chirped second. Along with the powershifting, if you can powershift the new tranny in the 01-04 good luck even the ford techs say its extremely difficult to shift because due to the way the transmission is mounted to the body the gears get bounded and speed and won't allow a proper power shift. ANYWAY! If your running low 15's in your 5 spd stock, don't fret just work on your launches and shifts, I'm no pro but its that simple. I hope that was helpful and I didn't come off condescending.

You bring up a good point, but power shifting isn't rocket science.. It takes some practice, and you really need to know your shift pattern and shift points of your tranny to do it well.. Practice is the key..

You did bring up a good point though.. Launches will make or break a run.. Simple as that..

If you can master the 2-3 shift it will help alot.. this is the make or break shift since any half descent driver should easily be able to power shift 1-2 and 3-4.

let's see... my first run at e-town clocked my 04 auto at 14.59 at 92 mph..... my second run was a 14.6 at 93mph..... and then I got intake, exhaust and a program.... only had 1 run to do it in... and I blew it with a 14.68 at 97 mph (gained some MPH!!!).... I spun soo bad... I was so angry... but thankfully my friend, who I was lined up against mis-shifted.... and ran a 17 OUCH!
