Default tire question

my mechanic accidently put on really big tires on my mustang , they are like 9 months old, and i took my car to another mechanic saying that i need smaller tires. i paid $500 for 4 big tires, i want to sell them and i can't sell them on ebay because they are too big to ship. is their a way that i can give them at a local store and get refunded? because they are too much of a hazard to drive the car on the highway with those big tires.

For what size rim? when you say too big you mean like... 315? bigger? or the wheel size is too big?

If it's the stock 17x8 rim, a 255-40- 17 will be fine. That's probably the widest you can go though. Stock tires are 245-45-17 I believe.
