I am curious about the police interceptor 4.6 I recently got a 99 GT with the label on the back of the car, but I cant seem to find any information online about it or what makes it so different

you can buy those badges off the internet, which is probably wut the previous owner did
Yeah, there's a guy around here with that exact badge on the back of his Accord. It's pretty funny. I'm pretty sure he did it for humor, because the thing is bone stock -- doesn't even have a fart can.....

I know that the police interceptor vics have a really wild tune and a new rear end gear.

ported heads too i herd, porting heads is when they take a di grinder and widen the spots the valves sit in to increase airflow? (just what i herd). If thats true then, why is it called ported HEADS and not valves?

so the best thing to do would be remove it? i just ordered scoops and hood scoop for it. was looking at different gears for the rear. wasnt sure what to go with. i will have to post a picture of the car when i bought it, looks like the kid tried to pimp it out with the wheels and stuff that was on it. the mud flaps did the car no justice, so they had to come off. thanks tho for the input guys

My previous car was a 2002 crown vic. I bought it at a police auction and in its previous life it was a cop car. The only difference between the police and civilian models are as follows: The civillian model has a 2.73 rear end gear while the cop version has 3.27 and 3.55 for the year 2000. Secondly the police version has a slightly different ecu, but this does nothing for power, it simply firms up the shifts and raises the shift limiters. Lastly, police version comes with dual exhaust and the civilian model doesnt, unless you buy a sport version.

So cop cars do not have ported heads, superchargers, or anything else you may have heard. I know from experience.
