RE: crap?
Yea, but how's the pipe gonna fit? I've never been brave enough to buy a CAI off of ebay, but from what I've heard, the fit and finish of these things aren't very good. No matter what, you're not gonna get much out of an air intake on a 2v, true. But whats the point in putting junk on your car?

RE: crap?
I was gonna spend like 200 bucks and pick up a K&N intake for my car, but then I found a guy on this forum who was selling his BBK CAI for cheap... it's metal, so it absorbs some heat, but it doesn't look bad, and either way i'm not gonna be picking that much hp up anyways. I figured I would just save cash for the heads, intake, and cams that I'm hopin' to get soon. Thats where you can find some hp

RE: crap?
I personally would not put a CAI made out of heat conductive material, (ie steel, aluminum, titanium, etc..) on any of my vehicles. The ambient heat they absorb from under the hood and transfer to the incoming air charge negates any free-flowing characteristics they may imply. You could easily wind up with a hp/trq loss with decreased gas mileage due to the increase in air temp. Same theory goes to high flowing air intakes exposed to under-hood ambient temps. It just doesn't make sense.
They sure look pretty though.
