Different Burnout Techniques

RE: Different Burnout Techniques
I rev it up to 4000ish, drop the clutch and hit the brake with my left foot, equivalent to a launch where I intend to spin... see the video below... final burnout below was done in 2nd gear

Since first gear is so short, I've tried a 2nd gear burnout. I revved it to 5k rpms in 2nd and dropped the clutch and immediately, but lightly grabbed the brakes. You don't want to be romping on the brakes. I held it for about 5 seconds and took off. It produced a good amount of smoke

ok so i am totally new at this and suck but isnt revving the engine up and dropping the clutch "bad for the clutch"? isnt that why people do the brakestand alone burn outs? and hell if i can figure out how to do that with the heel to toe

RE: Different Burnout Techniques
No, it's not bad for the clutch unless the clutch is slipping... letting the clutch out slowly is bad for the clutch, dropping it is bad for the rest of the driveline behind the clutch. With a 5-speed when doing a burnout, if you're holding the clutch at all, all you'll be burning is your clutch, not the tires.
