Where do jack stands go...
in the rear end? I am going to be installing a bassani SS cat-back (read WOOHOO) and am not sure where they go in the rear. Thanks! (oh, and any tips on how to post clips when i get it on would be appreciated!)

Just jack your car up by positioning a floorjack on the differential then place your jackstands on the axle between the wheel and the shock mount/bracket. Thats what I have always done when working outback on any of my cars.

http://mysite.verizon.net/txsnakecharmer/jacking.htm ~ I have heard that the reason why you shouldnt jack you mustang up using the pumpkin/diffrential is because the back axle has a slight angle to it, and doing so puts alot of stress on the axle. This should help and i think it should be a sticky i have told many people about it

Take a look at the pumpkin. You'll see why they say not to use it as a jack point. I still use it, just be careful where you place the jack.
For working on the exhaust, you'll want to place the stands under the subframe in front of the axle to allow the axle to drop. That will give you a little more room to work.

How about the front of the car? Where do the stands need to be positioned for the front of the car? I drove my car on ramps, but I am not able to get all the way underneath it. I am changing out my stock H-pipe to an O/R one.
Sorry, I didnt mention I have a '08 and I know this thread is not for the S197s.
