Default Shift points

around what rpm do you guys shift while normal driving? and when racing? it seems to me that i'm shifting too early while normal driving, i shift between 2500 and 3000rpm. i drive an 02 gt(manual)

That's about what I shift at while normal driving. When racing I usually bring it up to about 5 grand and then shift, sometimes i'll shift early, especially to get out of first.

Everyday I shift just shy of 3k, when I race I shift at 5600-5800rpms. Sometimes I wind it to 6k through lack of traction.

daily: 2k RPMs (got 21mpg! [8D])

racing: 5500 RPMs. At redline, power seems to drop dramatically. Is it better to sacrifice and shift at redline in order to put the next gear into a better powerband?
