Hey guys, i tried searching but found pretty much nothing. I was wondering how often you guys would reccomend changing various fluids in the car. My motor oil is always changed before 3000 miles, but i was wondering about others such as tranny and rear end fluid. I had my fuel filter changed a little while ago, so thats fine for now. My car has about 24,200 miles on it. I also havent changed the spark plugs on it... when should i be looking to do that? Thanks for the help.

 

THe "manufactures recomended" is in the owners manuel. BUT...this has been discussed before. Either Frequently, or not at all. I had a manuel trans go on an eclipse before 500 Mi. after a "trans flush." I tend to do my coolant freequently in my stang cuz every 10,000 mi. the **** turn black.

I was bored one day and read the owners manuel in my expedition one day and it said NEVER change the diff. fluid.

Truth be told...AAA (triple A) recomends you change your oil every 5,000 miles and the filter every 10,000 miles. This whole "3,000" mile oil change is for the dogs. That's how jiffy lube makes coin.

I go 5,000 every oil change. NEVER trans/diff fluid. Frequently on my coolant

And on that note. Memorize your hand book. And when the Jiffy Lube "technicians" come up to you for a "diff fluid every 30.000 miles" ( I know, I used to do that ****) throw it at them, THROW THAT BOOK RIGHT AT THEIR ****ING FACE, IT'S THE BEST!!! That's why I pay that extra 15 bucks every 5,000 miles.
