Default Headlight alignment question....

Well i just put some new headlights in my fiances 98 GT, now that its getting dark i want to see how the alignment is. My question is as far as alignment goes how far away from an object should i be and how far off the ground should their focus be?? Thanks for any help.

about 25ft on a flat surface facing a wall....i forget how far up the mark is but if you do a few test runs until the light shines where you want it you will be good.

im confused here no matter how much i adjust these it feels like as soon as i hit a bump they will go wherever they want. Adjusting them doesn't seem to be doing anything i can just push them around by hand.

then they aren't installed correct...did you break the adj stops when installing them? Did you install the locking retainers that hold them in?
