You will have him in the dig stock (from a start) 4v's suck at torque but they are amazing at high rpms. You need headers, x pipe, exhaust, 75 mm tb & ui, pullies, tuner, CAI, and you dont have to have gears. I could run with the best of um before i did my 4.10's. They pull alot harder up around 100 mph though becuase they can breathe a lot better. A mach one is your car but with 2 more valves. Think about it. There is nothing you can do to make up for that up high in the rpms.

If this helps any i beat a 98 cobra that had a short throw, intake, mufflers, and springs with my gt when all i had was x pipe, exhaust, and intake. I beat him by one hair but hey a win against a 4v is good in my book hahahaha

mach 1 is a different car from a gt.

Mach 1

305-310 HP (depending on year 03 or 04) and 320 ft lb torque and are slightly underrated
responds real well to mods
runs 1/4 in 13.5-13.7

GT 99-04

260 HP and 302 ft lb torque
responds ok to mods
runs 1/4 ~14.2-14.4

Mach's and Pre-03 cobras are different beasts. Machs are faster than them all stock for stock.

GT's with average drivers run 14.1-14.3 and Mach's with average drivers run 13.3-13.5. Mach's have more torque than a GT, so how would a GT get the Mach off the line? You confused me right there. Of course 4v's respond more to 2v's, and thats why an o/r pipe, exhaust, intake and tune will put a GT about 13.8 or so and a Mach into the 12's. For you to get to mid 13's is gonna take LT's, o/r or catted midpipe, catback exhaust, intake, t/b and plenum, gears and a tune. If you think about it, its not that much, the only thing that really takes awhile to get are the LT's, because they cost $600 and the install is about $400. You figure theres a few guys with auto 99-04GT's with exhaust, midpipe, intake, t/b and plenum, gears and tune who are running 13.6, so the 5spd should be a couple tenths faster, plus the LT's will knock off a couple extra tenths.

haha good luck man...it will take every bolt on you can find....those 4valves are tough. With Drag radials and a 75shot i still cant touch a mach 1. But my car seems to be super slow so it may not take as much for you.

Dunno where you got the idea 4v's suck with torque.
