K&N Filter damage again..
yeah after further research of my intake filter that I just recieved used, from a user on these forums, I seen that the filter was crushed and damaged, as well as filthy dirty, and the heatshield was cracked and in pieces, was not stated that it was like that in the ad when I bought it, but at anyrate if I was to purchase a new heatshield and filter how much would those 2 pieces cost me brand new...

Sorry to hear you got ripped off. The filter will run about $45 for the K&N and find someone on here who will sell you their heat shield for cheap (and get pictures first). There is probably many people on here who dont use theres b/c of aftermarket intakes. You could even consider making a way for the filter to stay w/o the heat shield.

and yes Stowesstang is not the culprit, she is very honest and straight forward, we are working on this subject. there is a possibility that K&N will give me a replacement at a descent price, I dont know what price it is yet, but I may get a whole new CAI, which is hell of a lot better then used! I am discussing it with K&N and DHL, and stowesstang.

RE: K&N Filter damage again..
I know not everyone has access to this type of equipment/materials but when i got into my wreck it crushed my filter and my heat shield, I got a new filter (which i needed anyway cause it was no longer pink) from autozone for like $50, and I made a new "connector" piece for the CAI tube and the filter holder with a piece of aluminum that i shaped to match the back of the piece that holds the filter where it joins the missing heatshield. The result was a very nice looking connector without the bulky, almost useless heat shield.
GL with it all, i'm sure everything will work out great
