Default CUT EM OFF

Just a thought, i was doing a serch on here for open headers but everyone says it messes up your valves, right? So what about just cuting the tail pipes off at the muffelers good or bed idea and will it cause any gain in horse power?

Thanks

Dumping the exhaust just after the muffler will net you a few horsepower without any side effects aside from increased noise. You could also disconnect your system after the midpipe, but you'll run the risk of pulling the exhaust fumes into the passenger cabin. This isn't a problem on a windows-always-down car, but could be a problem with the windows up.

Just throw a couple down turns on there and make sure the exhaust has a hanger near the end of the pipe.

I no longer have my stock exhaust, so mine will just unbolt from the muffler. Just make the cut after the hanger....where ever that is.

Duplicate the original hanger and weld it to the muffler case or the pipe. Use a good steel rod and bend it in your vice with a hammer.

take your car to a local muffler shop and have them cut it and weld in some turn downs....shouldn't cost more then $100
Any reason you want to do this? It is illiegal...

Depends on where you are. It's legal in Wyoming, South Dakota, and Nebraska. Not legal in Colorado if your intent is to increase the volume of the exhaust. I never intend to increase the volume, just the efficiency and tone.
