Exhaust Help ASAP please
I might cry. Ever since i installed my h pipe and stingers a couple months ago, its been leaking. It was leaking from where the h pipe connects to the catback. I fixed it a couple times, but it keeps coming back. Ive spent the whole morning trying to fix this once and for all,and im ready to kill something. My problem is that those little back pieces on the bolts that stop/ hold the bolt snugly to the flanges arent in the right position. Some are to far, some are to close.. and i cant move them.. i dont know how the hell i can adjust them.. fingers dont work, i tried using pliars, i tried PB blastering them, which only made it all a nice slippery mess. In the past, i just torqued the shlt out of the nuts and hoped for the best, but that lead to two rounded nuts and a still leaky connection. I need help.. please.
Im not really understanding what pieces on the bolts your talking about, mabey im just tired or something, but could you try explaining it again?
I didnt have anything to adjust on mine, just line the holes in the flanges up and bolt them together.

I would do that, but my exhaust is illegal even though its catted. My cats are OBD approved for every state except California.

i have that same problem also, except i have an x pipe and stingers. i thought my leak was comming from the x pipe/header connection but i cant seem to figure it out. i honestly thought about having it welded together.
Well, after alot of cussing, hitting the ground with a chair, and yelling, i finally got it all put back together. Its still leaking, just not as bad. What pisses me off is that the flanged ends for the midpipe sit very high up in relation to the ones on the stingers, which happen to sit very low. So, i pretty much have an angled connection on both sides, causing the leaks. The sound drives me crazy..i cant drive under 2500 RPMs anymore because i cant handle that whisping noise. Maybe its the Stingers, since Gthopeful said he has the same problem.. if it is, i would dump them, but i cant.. they sound TOO good.

in california, i think just LOOKING at your catalytic converters is illegal..
but i would assume there that even swapping out the stock cats for the same number of aftermarket cats is illegal..
