A short throw could help if the problem is the bad driver mod. If it isnt, it could be some of the stuff inside is bent or bending. I would start by putting some good fluid in it and then try a short throw. Short Throw make driving so much more fun.

I wouldn't have bought a new & strong transmission and put it in without a short shifter.

It's all waaaaaay too easy to destroy a perfectly good transmission with a stock shifter. All the slop in your stock shifter is probably causing your difficulties.

I had the same issue with my Cobra's T56 until I got an MGW, no more dead spots & missed gears for me.

its very easy... the way i do it is.. take off the shifter... drain the tranny fluid from the plug on the bottom (its impossible to miss not seeing the plug) and then put the plug back on and pour the reccommended about of fluid back in through where the shifter mounts... i would use synthetic fluid.

All mustangs have trouble going into third lol. Is one of those things we all have to get used to lol. You can get a spring loaded short throw shifter.
