there is nothing wrong with these programmers, you can change your speedo if you change your gears you can adjust your shift firmness and it has an economey tune and also a 93 octane tune. the tune that you can set on your car is fairly decent and you can notice a difference. i did some research on these tuners and when compares with sct , and diablo etc it had just as much gain as the other programmers in mph.

Everybody here thinks all you have to do is return the stock program to the original car and then it can be used on another vehicle. This is not true. The are vin locked and can never be used to tune another car. All they can do is read codes on another vehicle. In other words it marries itself to the original car that it tuned and can never be used to tune another car. Thats the way it is... read the manual guys. I'm sick of hearing this on this and other boards.

I just bought mine off a guy a couple of weeks ago, he returned his car to its stock setting to sell the programmer to me!

So as not to mislead here it is word for word........(Page 3 second paragraph from the bottom of the page) - Hyper tech Power Programmer 3: "Because your factory program is stored in the programmer, you can reconnect the programmer to your vehicle and use it to return to the factory programming at any time. After you have done this, your vehicle will be in its stock configuration and the programmer may then be used on a different vehicle of the same year, make ,and model".[sm=icon_rtfm.gif]

We are talking about the Superchips tuner here. Page 3... When connected, the Max Microtuner will run a self test, displaying several start up messages. If the tuner has been previously used to program a vehicle, the microtuner will beep and display : MICRO TUNER IS VIN LOCKED. This indicates that the tuner has been previously used to program a vehicle and cannot program another. The tuner will continue to operate on the original vehicle and may be used as a DTC code reader on other Ford vehicles.

I bought mine used from ebay and it works perfectly fine. they can be used on other vehicles once the factory tune is put back on the car. I contacted superchips about that before i bought the tuner and they said this is done because some people own more then just one car and may want to switch tunes between the cars.

If you can then why does the manual I have in my hand say that you can't?
