Default Boost Cooler!?!?!?!

Ok so im reading my 5.0 Mustang magazine and I come across this article. It is about some boost cooler thing....some water methanol injection that claims it will add 78 hp to your stang. Is this **** for real or is it a scam. I went to the web site...... www.snowperformance.net it seemed like a pretty legit site.

Anyone have any info on this thing????

Its real. Snow performance is actually in the same little mountain town i live in, woodland park, colorado. Matt Snow builds drag cars and all my forced induction buddies have this. It gives a good 50 to 100 hp boost. I've driven my buddies 04 stage 2 vortech s/c roush (575 rwhp, 600 rwtrq) with and without it and its a whole world of difference. Go for it man. My buddy has an 89 fox but got an 05 hetta gli (turbo, intercooled) and threw a kit on there and now his jetta can whoop my 270 rwhp Stang. Im deffinatly getting a snow kit when i build my engine.

Do you have a blower or turbo? If you do then yes get one, they work. But if you are still n/a then they won't help you.

Right now I just have a 99 GT stock. I am looking into getting some gears...then exhaust and some pulleys maybe.....but when I came across this article I was like damn maybe this is what I should get.

How good would htis be if I got it on my stock GT

I may be wrong, but as far as I understand methanol injection itself does not add HP. The injection cools down the boosted air so much it allows you to add timing and/or get more aggressive with your tune, so therefore you get much bigger numbers under boosted applications. The added octane helps also.

The only problem is if you all of sudden stop injecting while under this tune it can lead to instant detonation and KABOOM!

So basically it works like an air conditioner for the air going into your engine. Making it a true Cold Air Intake?

Boost cooler is nothing but a "chemical" intercooler.

the water evaporates cooling the intake charge and the methanol boost octane.

Like said above it doesnt make hp, just allows for more boost or timing, just
as if you added an air/air intercooler to your s/c set-up.

Pointless with out boost.

you could, but your wasting your $$$$$$$$$$ Go buy a nitrous setup...that'll be cheaper and give you more power.
