Default 4.10 gears

im putting in 4.10 gears and im debating between the ford racing gears and the motive gears... there is a difference in price, so should i spend the extra couple bucks and get the ford ones or no? i've read in some places that the motive gears whine and then i've heard they havent...any suggestions will be appreciated

I went with the Motive 4:10's in my Mach, and to be honest I have not had any problems, no gear whine, no noises, I have got about 8k miles on the gears, the car is my DD for right now, and I do run it at the track.
If I had to do it over I would go with Motive again, thats my opinion, but Im sure others had had different experiences.

A lot of performance shops won't touch anything but FRPP gears. I forget what the exact reason is but it was mentioned a couple of weeks ago. Ford has specialized tools that only work for their gears making installation a breeze.

The ford racing gears are set up so you do not have to do any re-shimming.Also the backlash should be rite on.That will save you some time and make the job alot easier. If your doing the install yourself buy those. If your not either are good so go with whats cheaper. I've done 3.73s and 4.10s ford racing gears and wouldn't go any other way myself.
